Lincoln Lines February 24th, 2019 No. 22

Principal Denitzio’s Message

Dear families,

I hope that you all had a great February vacation. Because of the week off, I didn’t get to share this sooner, but I wanted to highlight a great event that took place on Thursday Feb. 14.

That afternoon, our school community gathered in the gym for an assembly organized by our Young Scholars program to celebrate Black History Month and Martin Luther King, Jr. The event featured spoken-word pieces by our Young Scholars, and musical performances by our K-3 students and the fifth grade and middle school choruses. I want to recognize the work done by our music teacher, Tom Malone, and by the advisor to our Young Scholars program, Natalie Allen, in organizing this event. It was inspiring to be together as a school community, and to hear our student voices call on us all to work towards realizing Dr. King’s vision.
